Elena is the Director and Founder of the Women’s Summit and the Compañeras Program at El Centro AMISTAD. She is a longstanding community activist for women’s leadership and social justice. Since 1997 Elena has worked at Mental Health Partners in the Community Infant Program – CIRCULO team, providing psychoterapeutic services to the Latino community in Boulder, Colorado. Elena is the author of numerous publications and studies published by the Universidad de Guadalajara, Mexico and Nuestra America Magazine, Domestic Violence Manual for Latin woman. Originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, Alana has lived in the US for 28 years and currently resides in Boulder with her three children.
