Mary began her interest in children and education years ago as a poet in the Illinois Artists in Residence Program where she taught in classrooms across the state. She moved on become a scriptwriter (her work appeared on American Playhouse), and specialized in writing and producing educational videos for publishers such as Glencoe-McGraw Hill and independent production companies. She had a great deal of fun producing a Chicago-based Voice of America cultural news video series. Currently she is involved in marketing and promotion, social media, creating websites, and writing and developing educational apps. She writes for children in her spare time. Her awards include the Philo, MCAI, and a couple of Tellys.
