William Stoehr is a visual artist. His art has been shown at universities, art centers, museums and galleries throughout the country. Prior to becoming a full-time artist, Stoehr was the President of National Geographic Maps — responsible for the National Geographic Society’s worldwide mapping operations. Stoehr was born and raised in Burlington Wisconsin. He and his wife Mary Kay moved to Colorado in 1982 and currently reside in Boulder, Colorado.
Stoehr’s current art project focuses on war, violence and intolerance with a goal of creating a discussion that examines how we are to respond. Simply being affected is not enough.
